In this room we replaced the royal blue carpet with maple engineered wood floors and added a diamond-patterned sisal rug to pull together the seating group. We had wrought iron wall sconces wired for some ambient light along with a floor torchiere and a new glass shade chandelier. The back wall was finished with a bronze metallic paint to give it a faux suede effect to compliment the club chair, dining room chair upholstery and silk draperies.

Library Wall

One of the big challenges of niches in homes is “What to do with the niche?” Not only do built-in units add value to your home but they make an appealing visual impact. This couple had an extensive library collection so we opted to build a beautiful library wall. The leather inset door panels coupled with the espresso finish stain, fluted columns and triple-arch shelves make this piece truly impressive. We added his and hers leather chairs for the perfect relaxing retreat.

Mediterranean Masterpiece

The structural elements were beautiful in this family room; it just needed some warmth and comfortable furnishings so this vacation home could truly be called a retreat. Green accents pulled from the adjacent kitchen granite countertop were used throughout while gold and red tones become the basis for this room’s color palette. We used traditional styling coupled with some Mediterranean influences to give the client’s the casual California style they desired.

Bathroom Beauty

The masculine tones of the adjacent theater room were the inspiration for this powder room. The taupe walls and black shade chrome sconces set the stage for the beautiful new cabinets, solid surface counter tops, rectangular sink and waterfall faucet.

Master Suite Makeover

The master bath was anything but masterful so we refaced the cabinets, framed out the mirror, installed new tile in in shower/bath (including a frameless glass shower enclosure) and installed beautiful solid surface surround around the tub and on countertops. The soft blue paint hue and “sandy” colored hard surfaces are reminiscent of the nearby La Jolla shores. A relaxing way to start any day!

La Jolla Luxury

The footprint of this kitchen was functional so we opted to be Sensibly Chic and reface the cabinets. We designed custom cabinet fronts and stained them a rich mahogany tone to contrast with the stone floors and new Caesarstone countertops and stainless appliances. The glass dinette table with modern upholstered side chairs in a gray woven textile, topped off with a shaded chrome chandelier with crystal accents makes this space truly a diner’s delight.

Entertainer’s Delight

The only unchanged item in this kitchen is the granite countertop. New wood flooring that contrasts dramatically with the newly refinished white kitchen cabinets (refinished not replaced –money saver!). Also, new pendant light fixtures, crown moulding and a rounded glass-top bar area was added for additional seating. Simply chic and fabulous!

Kitchen Facelift

After a brief look around their neighborhood and determining it was much more cost effective to update their kitchen than move, these clients opted for an economical kitchen cabinet facelift. Using a 4-step process we gave these cabinets the rich look of mahogany (refrigerator panels were stained to match as well), added moulding to the top and bottom of the cabinets for a custom look and a fresh coat of paint to contrast with the granite and cabinetry – and wa-la, a dream kitchen comes to life!

Del Mar Divine

Custom kitchens need not be daunting! To keep costs down, we kept the same floor plan since it was working well for the client; we simply updated the cabinetry to suit her needs (adding more full-extension drawers), beautiful granite counter tops and custom glass back splash – all colors reminiscent of nearby Del Mar Beach. New appliances, new recessed lighting and an extended peninsula bar make this remodel, absolutely divine.

Kitchen Expansion

This homeowner wanted to desperately update her kitchen but didn’t want to spend a fortune since she planned to rent out her home in the near future. To accomplish her design goals, we kept a similar footprint (no need to move plumbing, etc.) and expanded her kitchen by giving her two pantries and a beverage center/ wine bar area for entertaining. Her custom cabinetry was selected to contrast beautifully with her travertine and wood floors (another money saver as she will put wood floors throughout when budget permits). We replaced her drop fluorescent light box with glass pendants and recessed lighting for better light control. The new granite counters, tumbled tile backsplash and new stainless steel appliances all make this a dream kitchen without the dream kitchen price tag!
